SMASHCLUB High-energy mathrock with some soft punk roots. Everything jerks and bounces sporadically, but manages to keep it's cool. I would be on the edge of my seat if there was a fucking seat to grab. On top of that, the melodies are pretty and the lyrics make you want to sing along. Really cool to see some mathrock coming out of Seattle. Thank you Curse League. Favorite track: Miles of Dangerous Ideas.

"Leaving home operates at the forefront for this Seattle-based band, which may have to do with their youthful positions in life, and it seems that their best reaction to the jarring moment of being let loose is to play the fuck out of their instruments. Curse League sound unabashedly resilient about stepping out into the world.

The music works as a rallying cry and is easy to see being shouted by many like-minded listeners before descending to all out surrender to movement in a mosh pit. Upon seeing them at a recent house show, I would also add that they seem very aware of what they are doing – the environment that they are creating. They play with abandon, but they encourage concert-goers to be aware of the people surrounding them – it’s clear their music has intention behind it."

- Atwood Magazine

"Vocals weave and turn through the vigorous melodies and riffs of dual guitars of Chester Cun and Kai Brunson, punctuated by the tight yet enjoyably spastic drumming of Jake Campbell. Vigorous rhythms and organized chaos subsist with melodic intricacies, combining a bit of sugar with all of the shred-heavy technicality."

- Fecking Bahamas

"Their music feels indebted to old-school emo to an extent, but it doesn’t feel too overbearingly emotional; its lyrics are more abstract and poetic than they are tear-soaked diary-esque, and it’s clear that they’re more focused on winning you over with their dizzying grooves and punk aggression."

- NorthWest Music Scene

"These Seattle duders play Math/emo tinged punk in the same vein as bands like Glocca Morra or Tera Melos, but a little less Twinkle Daddy and a little more party punk. Regardless of which way they lean on the emo spectrum, these dudes make some rad tunes that aren't to be missed."

Track Name: Vencido
daughter of a priest for the poor
fear in her eyes with knocks on the door
dos erres smelled of well known bones
on a day she had a funeral at home

no time to watch the tear drops dry
in the light of the moon she can run for miles

so she leaves all she knows
from these mayan hills blood lust
from ones adored and decomposed
as the candles explode
she evades their shots like dust
ephemeral as a callous ghost

running, fleeing, flying, leaving, home...
Track Name: Counting Sheep
no sleep for days
she herds her sheep
she’ll make them pay
she’ll make them weep

incite them
this army
of rebels
send postcards

let mom know
you won’t come home

i am the postman

steal from the cradle, unearth this landfill
count all your stars that you’ll find home, nations have no room
Track Name: Miles of Dangerous Ideas
splitting at the seams

funding far from foreign lands, drenched in pallid hands
fool proof arms alee, leading poverty
she’s at the will of the wise, weakened white wench
sell this sick disease, cut the vein from the hand
Track Name: Palace Falls
palace falls like comets colliding
strapping up for the resolution
she’ll get what she wants, she’ll bury their guns
heartless heartlands await their fate and
she’ll ignite the bold operation
battle scars begin to form as
bullets begin to fly though she doesn’t mind

grace to those who protect the landless
she arranges the senators to
return the earth, the soil and gold
mercenary to capitol she’s
here to rectify, kill the liar
holding fast to the new translation
essence of earth realign the catacombs

this soil will not be rotten
chosen to lead this vanguard
they lower the flags, she’ll leave it in ash
this medicine evaporates
